Chinese smartphone maker Huawei launched several smartphones in India under its main brand name in the past couple of years. However, in the recent years the company started facing a stiff competition from the new Chinese entrants in India like Xiaomi, MEIZU, vivo, and others. The brand started losing its market share to these vendors. To strengthen its foothold against other vendors, the brand launched its sub-brand called Honor in the country. The brand launched several feature-loaded Honor devices in India with competitive price tags. However, the company still unveils new smartphones under its main Huawei brand from time to time. The Huawei Mate 8 is the latest device from the company in the phablet segment that was unveiled in November 2015.

The Mate 8 is yet to reach Indian shores, but there’s a good alternative from the company under the Honor brand called the Honor 7. To find out how they stand against each other, let’s put the Honor 7 and Mate 8 on the table and compare their specs.
